 Born and raised in Omaha, NE, Dominic Holmes has always had a passion for art. At the age of 19, he found himself juggling two jobs and feeling unfulfilled. Seeking a new path, he took a leap of faith and walked into American Tattoo to inquire about apprenticeships.

Three weeks after his initial inquiry, Dominic received a call from American Tattoo offering him an apprenticeship under the guidance of Ira Handlon. This apprenticeship followed the traditional "old school" style, where Dominic learned the craft through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Throughout his career, Dominic has been influenced by renowned tattoo artists such as Filip Leu, Joe Capobianco, Corey Kruger, Kore Flatmo, and Grime. These artists have shaped his style and approach to tattooing, inspiring him to continually push the boundaries of his art.

After nine years at American Tattoo, Dominic made the transition to Big Brain Tattoo where he continues to hone his craft. He considers himself fortunate to have worked alongside a diverse group of talented individuals, each contributing to his growth and development as an artist. While he has already achieved great success, he remains humble and eager to learn from fellow tattooers in the industry.
