Jose Villa

@josevillatattoo

Jose Villa has been a trailblazer in the tattoo world for 16 years, crafting art that reflects a blend of influences as diverse as his own story. His apprenticeship began under the legendary Jose Lopez and the Lowrider Tattoo crew, where he honed his skills in Chicano fine line black and gray tattooing. Despite being immersed in that traditional style, Jose’s identity as a metalhead and horror movie aficionado brought a unique edge to his work, setting him apart.

Over the years, Jose’s style has evolved into a stunning fusion of techniques and inspirations. From the precision of Chicano fine line black and gray to the boldness of traditional and Blackwork tattoos, his designs also draw heavily from his love of music, horror, culture, Halloween, and psychedelic imagery. This constant evolution ensures his art stays fresh and dynamic while maintaining authenticity.

Now, Jose continues his creative journey at The Golden Peacock, his new studio in Downtown Santa Ana, which he co-owns. Here, he pushes boundaries, exploring new influences and techniques while staying true to his roots. For Jose Villa, tattooing is more than a craft—it's a lifelong passion fueled by his unique perspective and a relentless drive to keep growing. If you’re looking for one-of-a-kind ink from an artist who embraces individuality, Jose Villa is the name to know.
