Berg Standard

Released in 2007 and created by tattoo artist Tom Berg, this design holds a special place in Sullen's history as the first tee brought in from an artist outside co-founder Ryan Smith — a partnership sparked through mutual friends that opened the door to years of outside collaboration. Rendered in soft airbrushed grays across a white tee, the artwork drapes over the shoulders like smoke: a shrouded, bandaged skull emerges on one side, wide feathered wings unfurl across the other, and the "Sullen" script sits stitched between them in ornate gothic lettering. It's a quieter, more ethereal mood than most of the brand's work — mournful and angelic rather than aggressive, like something fading into being rather than striking out. The back mirrors the front, wings spreading fully across the shoulder blades beneath the wordmark, as if the design itself is taking flight. Fittingly faded, fittingly haunting, Berg is the piece that proved Sullen's vision could live in more than one artist's hands — and it's remained a fan favorite ever since.
