Released in 2009, Fallen Angel marked the first collaboration between co-founder Ryan Smith and tattoo artist Big Gus — a partnership born from days of passing the piece back and forth until it was right, and one that shattered sales records the moment it dropped. The artwork stretches down the front of a black tee: a sugar-skull-faced angel with sweeping feathered wings, her eyes closed in quiet sorrow, tattoos of her own etched across bare shoulders and torso as she's draped in soft, flowing fabric. It's a striking mix of grace and grief — beautiful but mournful, sacred but street. Fine script "Sullen" lettering rests beside her on the front, while the back carries a larger, flowing signature-style wordmark between the shoulders. The mood is somber and romantic all at once, the kind of piece that feels more like a tattoo flash brought to life than a simple graphic tee.
