Eva Jean
Eva Jean: 20 Years Deep, Buffalo Bred, Built to Last
Eva Jean Huber has been tattooing since 2004. That's two decades of custom work, convention floors, magazine features, and relentless refinement — all from Buffalo, New York, where she's become one of the city's most respected and enduring voices in the craft. She didn't chase the spotlight. She built something real, and the spotlight found her anyway.
Buffalo, New York and the Long Game
Eva grew up in the Allentown district of Buffalo — a neighborhood with its own deep artistic identity — and has stayed rooted there through every phase of her career. She now works out of her private studio The Rehn Haus (@therehnhaus), also affiliated with the respected Peregrine Tattoos NY (@peregrinetattooosny). The private studio setup reflects where she is in her career: the clients come to her, the work speaks for itself, and the process is entirely on her terms.
Her booking email — Tattoosbyeva@gmail.com — is the front door. Send your idea, your references, where you're thinking of placing it, your timeframe, and your budget. She makes it easy because she respects her clients enough to be clear about how it works.
The Work: Illustrative, Traditional at the Core
Eva's style is illustrative with strong traditional fundamentals — a combination she's been developing and refining for over 20 years. All custom, all drawn by her. No cookie-cutter flash pulled from someone else's book. The line quality is confident without being aggressive, the compositions breathe, and the imagery carries a quiet authority that comes only from genuine craft mastery.
Her portfolio spans botanical work, portraiture, figures, and cultural iconography — a range made possible not by stylistic jumping but by deep technical investment in the fundamentals that make all of it possible.
Recognized at Every Level
Eva has appeared on Ink Master, been featured in Inked Magazine, The Boston Globe, Huffington Post, and Tattoo magazine, and was an ambassador for Search and Rescue Denim (@searchandrescuedenim). She's worked alongside artists like Megan Massacre and has been part of Babes Ride Out — the kind of cultural moments that reflect a creative life lived well beyond the tattoo chair.
Her sponsors say as much: @griffinsalve, @secondskintac, @searchandrescuedenim, @creamtattoosupply — brands that align with an artist who takes both the craft and the community seriously.
Sullen Family
Twenty years in, still growing, still custom-only, still Buffalo — Eva Jean is exactly the kind of tattooist the Sullen Art Collective was built to honor. Deep roots, full commitment, an artistic voice that's been earned through decades of showing up and doing the work.
