THE BLANK MATTERS - WHAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU - STANDARD, PREMIUM, 1TON

The Blank Matters

The art gets the attention. The blank decides how it lives.

Every Sullen tee starts with a choice most brands don't mention: which blank carries the work, and what color it's dyed to. We run three — Standard, Premium, and 1Ton. Each is built for a different job. Here's how they differ, so you know exactly what you're getting.

Compare the three ↓
Three tiers. Standard is the dependable everyday blank. Premium and 1Ton step up to PFD cotton — prepared-for-dye, so we color each tee to complement the art it carries. The print isn't dropped onto a stock color; the garment is dyed to sit with the work. That's the line you cross moving up the tiers.

Tier 01

Standard

Everyday.

The classic build — soft hand, broken in fast, clean to print on. Standard is the one you reach for first: light enough to layer, durable enough to live in. The dependable workhorse of the rotation.

  • BuildCombed cotton jersey, 1" rib collar, set-in collar, taped shoulder to shoulder.
  • Built forDaily wear, layering, buying in multiples.

Tier 02

Premium

Custom-dyed to the art.

A ring-spun PFD cotton blank — prepared for dye, then colored to complement the artwork on it. Ring-spun yarn gives it a smoother, denser hand, and because the garment is dyed to the art rather than printed on a stock color, the whole piece reads as one. Color sits richer. Nothing fights the print.

  • BuildCombed ring-spun PFD cotton, custom-dyed per design.
  • Built forPieces you want to keep, art that deserves a considered canvas.

Tier 03

1Ton

The heavyweight, done right.

7.6 oz, 100% cotton. Side-seam construction, box cut, drop shoulder — a trend-driven silhouette built with the highest attention to detail. On paper that weight reads stiff. It isn't. The 1Ton goes through a silicone bath and an enzyme wash — double-washed — so a genuinely heavy tee lands with a soft, broken-in hand most heavyweights never reach.

Like Premium, it's PFD: each tee is custom-dyed to accentuate the art that sits on it. The weight gives the print a denser bed — deeper blacks, smoother gradients, color that reads close to the original work. The build gives it structure and the wash gives it feel. It's the most considered piece we make.

  • Build7.6 oz 100% cotton, side-seam, box cut, drop shoulder, silicone bath + enzyme washed, custom-dyed per design.
  • Built forStatement pieces, color realism, the work you want to last longest.

Why we run three

Most brands pick one stock blank and print everything on it. We run three, and on two of them we dye the garment to the artwork — because a print dropped onto an off-the-shelf color flattens the work, and a tee dyed to complement it doesn't.

So when you see three prices on the same drop, that's the rest of the story. You're choosing the build, the weight, and on Premium and 1Ton, a garment colored specifically for the art it carries.
